The Sun Blade 8000 modular system is the first system developed exclusively for high-end x86 computing that combines the performance, pricing, and flexibility of rackmount servers with the serviceability and efficiency of blades to give the best of both worlds. The system outperforms rackmount servers with 50% less space and 40% lower power consumption while providing up to double the I/O configurations and I/O throughput of leading blade servers.

Up to 50% more space-efficient and 40% more energy efficient than current rackmount servers
Leading blade servers have up to four times the RAM and up to 20 times the I/O throughput.
Up to a 62 percent reduction in power and cooling costs when compared to conventional blade and rackmount servers
