Blade X8420 Information

The Sun Blade X8420 server module is a stunning piece of hardware. The Sun X8420 has four AMD 8000 series dual-core CPUs with speeds of 2.4GHz (model 8216), 2.6GHz (model 8218), and 2.8GHz (model 8220). Each SB X8420 module has 16 DIMM slots and a total memory capacity of 64GB. Two hot-swappable SAS or SATA disks are included in every Sun Blade X8420 server module. Solaris 10, Red Hat Linux, VMware, and Windows 2003 Server are among the OS options available with the SB X8420 module.

  • The Sun X8420 is ideal for businesses that are planning for future expansion. 
  • Scales up to four dual-core AMD Opteron microprocessors, 64 gigabytes of RAM, six PCIe ports, and up to two 73, 146, or 200-gigabyte drives for extra storage, and is compatible with the Sun Blade 8000 chassis.
