With 192 cores, 6 TB of memory, and 16 PCIe slots, Oracle Server X8-8 is a suitable architecture for combining numerous database instances into a single platform. Databases can use these resources to consume system resources flexibly during peak operating conditions. Because communication pathways benefit from the increased bandwidth supplied by the UPI connections between the processors rather than using network capacity, the elimination of individual physical servers minimizes transaction latencies. This decrease in network bandwidth usage also leads in a decrease in infrastructure costs.
