The Juniper Networks PTX10003 Packet Transport Router, compactly housed in a 3 U form factor, is an industry trailblazer as the first fixed-configuration core router to support 400 GbE. Designed for deployment in space-constrained environments such as Internet exchange locations, remote central offices, and embedded peering points, including those within cloud-hosted services, the PTX10003 stands out with unprecedented power efficiency at 0.2 watts/Gbps. Offering high-density ports with line rates ranging from 10 GbE to 400 GbE, it accommodates diverse connectivity needs.

The router incorporates inline AES-256 MACsec encryption without compromising throughput or latency. Available in two models, the PTX10003-160C supporting 16 Tbps throughput and the PTX10003-80C supporting 8 Tbps throughput, both in a compact 3 U footprint, the router is powered by custom ExpressPlus silicon. This ensures predictable IP/MPLS packet performance and functionality, meeting evolving traffic demands with a peering scale of up to 4 million FIB routes and 60 million RIB routes.

The PTX10003 supports universal multi-rate QSFP-DD optics, enhancing aggregate switch bandwidth while maintaining port density. Operating on Junos OS Evolved, it provides seamless interoperability with existing Juniper routing deployments, ensuring a modernized infrastructure with high availability, portability, rapid innovation, and simplified upgrades.
