The Juniper Networks ACX5448 Universal Metro Router is designed to meet the evolving connectivity needs of service providers anticipating the 5G revolution. Featuring 48 aggregation ports supporting 1GbE/10GbE, along with four high-capacity uplink ports for 40GbE/100GbE, the ACX5448 enables seamless transitions from 10GbE to 100GbE.

This space- and cost-optimized platform supports full Metro Ethernet and IP/MPLS VPN services, offering a comprehensive solution for Ethernet service aggregation and packet-optical convergence. Leveraging Juniper's Unified PON technology, the ACX5448 facilitates efficient and high-density networks, accommodating diverse traffic demands. It supports various service types, including E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, and E-Access, as well as IP-over-IP VPN services. With high-availability features such as unified in-service software upgrades (ISSU) and the Junos operating system, the ACX5448 ensures consistent delivery of mission-critical voice and video traffic.

This 1 U platform is well-suited for locations with space constraints, providing flexibility with port configurations, including up to 48 GbE or 10GbE ports, up to 16 25GbE ports, and up to six 100GbE ports. The ACX5448's packet-optical convergence version further supports two 100/200G CFP2 DCO line-side ports for enhanced multilayer deployment options.
