The Juniper Networks ACX5096 Universal Metro Router, part of the ACX5000 line, stands out as a high-performance and high-port-density solution tailored for metro Ethernet access and aggregation deployments within Carrier Ethernet networks.

This router is crafted with an innovative design to assist service providers in constructing infrastructures that prioritize high-density and high-performance, especially in environments where rack space and cooling are limited. Specifically engineered to manage 1GbE and 10GbE capacity and density, the ACX5096 router incorporates 40GbE interfaces for efficient network-to-network interface (NNI) uplinks. It seamlessly supports a range of services, including E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree, E-Access, and IP/IP VPN services.

Additionally, ACX5000 routers introduce service virtualization through a dedicated and customizable KVM-compliant virtual machine. This virtual machine is capable of executing operational scripts and programs, facilitating network performance monitoring and analysis. Key features of the ACX5096 include support for up to 96 1GbE ports, up to 104 10GbE ports, up to 8 40GbE ports, and MEF CE 2.0 certification.
