The Dell PowerVault MD3460 storage array is a 12Gb serial-attached SCSI (SAS) array with high capacity and maximum SAS connectivity in a 4U form size. This dependable system is suitable for consolidation initiatives that demand high performance, high availability, and reliability that your SMB can rely on. The Dell MD3460 is designed for demanding workloads like VMware or Hyper-V virtualization, with double the throughput connectivity of previous generation PowerVault MD3 array series SANs and up to 16GB cache. The direct-attached MD3460 SAS array, unlike fiber channel or iSCSI SAN solutions, may connect to up to 8 host servers in single-path mode or up to 4 servers in high availability mode without the use of expensive switches.
