IBM TS2360 Tape Drive Information:

The new IBM System Storage TS2360 Tape Drive Model S63 (machine type 3580) external stand-alone or rack-mountable unit is designed for entry and midrange systems environments and offers great capacity and performance. The LTO IBM System Storage Ultrium 6 full-high SAS tape drive is included in the TS2360. Compared to the IBM TS2350 LTO full-high tape drive (Ultrium 5) at up to 140 MB/sec native data transfer rate, the TS2360 is designed to accommodate the LTO Generation 6 media specification native data rate performance of up to 160 MB/sec.


The TS2360 Tape Drive Express is suited for handling backup, save and restore, and archival data storage needs with higher capacity and a higher data transfer rate than the previous generation. In addition, the LTO Ultrium 6 technology is designed to support media partitioning and Linear Tape File System Single Drive Edition. It also continues to support encryption of data and write-once-read-many (WORM) media.
