IBM TS1160 Tape Drive Information:

With the addition of the JE media, the TS1160 provides a considerable capacity and throughput boost over the IBM TS1150. It also comes with full integration with Spectrum Software Defined Storage, which aids in data management and storage cost reduction. To help optimize drive utilization and reduce infrastructure requirements, TS1160 can be shared on a storage area network through the existing Fibre Channel 16 Gb, Ethernet 10 Gb or 25 Gb, and now SAS 12 Gb interfaces.

TS1160 technology tape drives allow TS1150 / 3592 JD tape cartridges to be reformatted increasing capacity from 10TB to 15TB. With TS1160 technology tape drives allows read-only access to the TS1140 / 3592 JC tape cartridge. It will also work with TS1155 JD cartridges.
