IBM System x3550 servers feature new Intel quad-core processors with 12 MB L2 cache — Application density for power managed datacenters. The System x3550 server features an Intel Xeon quad-core processor that supports internal processing speeds of up to 3.16 GHz and processing operations to memory and the PCI bus at 133 MHz. It contains an integrated, full-speed 12 MB ECC L2 cache. These servers are high-throughput, network servers with excellent scalability when you add memory and a second processor. Data transfer across the system bus is at a 4X rate (four data transfers per clock) for an effective data transfer rate of up to 1333 MHz.
