When used in a clustered architecture, Dell Compellent Series 30 controllers provide automated failover and are hot-swappable. By selecting one or two controllers per system, Compellent Series 30 controllers allow customers the flexibility to address rising organizational requirements.
Customers can employ any combination of front-end server interconnects, including 4Gb or 8Gb FC, 1Gb or 10Gb iSCSI, or 10Gb FCoE. The Dell Series 30 controller comes with a 32-bit operating system and a 3.0GHz dual-core processor, as well as five I/O expansion slots that can accommodate up to 20 connections. Nonstop operation is ensured by the redundant, hot-swappable power supply and cooling fans.
