The Juniper Networks QFX5120-48YM Switch is a versatile 10GbE/25GbE/100GbE data center leaf and campus distribution switch, delivering exceptional performance and a comprehensive feature set. With 48 25GbE (SFP28)/10GbE (SFP+)/1GbE (SFP) downlink ports and eight 100GbE (QSFP28)/40GbE (QSFP+) uplink ports, the QFX5120-48YM achieves a remarkable throughput of up to 4 Tbps (bidirectional) and boasts an ultra-low latency of 550 nanoseconds.

This switch supports Media Access Control Security (MACsec) AES-256 encryption across all ports, ensuring secure data transmission. The inclusion of a powerful 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel CPU, 16 GB memory, and 100 GB SSD storage contributes to its high-performance capabilities. Breakout cables enable two of the 100GbE QSFP28 ports to be split into either four 25GbE SFP28 or four 10GbE SFP+ ports, allowing for a maximum of 56 supported 10GbE/25GbE ports when using breakouts.

The QFX5120-48YM supports a total of 62 ports, including 6x100GbE and 56x10/25GbE, providing flexibility in deployment. Additionally, QFX5120 switch models feature support for VXLAN as an L2 or L3 gateway, advanced Junos OS features such as Ethernet VPN-Virtual Extensible LAN (EVPN-VXLAN), BGP add-path, L3 VPN, MPLS, and feature-rich automation capabilities with support for Python and zero-touch provisioning (ZTP). Running on Junos OS, the QFX5120 Switch underscores Juniper's commitment to delivering a robust and powerful network operating system across its range of switches, routers, and firewalls.
