Juniper Networks EX4500-40F-VC1 Ethernet Switch

The Juniper Networks EX4500-40F-VC1 Ethernet Switch is a versatile networking solution featuring 40 GbE/10GbE small form-factor pluggable transceiver (SFP/SFP+) fiber connectors, eight 10GbE SFP+ uplink ports (via two optional four-port uplink modules), and 1 x 10/100/1000 Ethernet RJ-45 ports for efficient management.  

The EX4500 Ethernet Switch provides 40 wire-speed dual Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10GbE pluggable ports within a two-rack-unit base platform, ensuring comprehensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity for networked devices such as servers and switches. Optional high-speed uplink modules further enhance configuration flexibility by adding eight extra 10GbE ports, bringing the total port count to 48.

The EX4550 Ethernet Switch, also part of the EX4500 series, offers 32 wire-speed GbE or 10GbE pluggable ports in a compact one-rack-unit base platform. Equipped with two expansion slots, one in the front and one in the back, the switch accommodates optional expansion modules, providing remarkable configuration and deployment flexibility. These expansion modules increase the EX4550’s density to 48 wire-speed GbE or 10GbE ports, delivering a robust 480 Gbps of Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity.

Both the EX4500 and EX4550 switches offer an economical, power-efficient, and compact solution for aggregating 10GbE uplinks from access devices in core data center and building deployments. These switches meet enterprise core switch requirements by delivering wire-speed performance on every port, full device redundancy, and dual-speed GbE and 10GbE interfaces.
